This commit allows to invoke the rule_checker with a chain of
filepaths as arguments. If no paths are provided it reads from standard
input.
The -rule-file flag remains for backward-compatibility.
On processing errors the return code is now 1. For bad arguments
the return code is now 2.
- Move CONTRIBUTORS.md to the more common AUTHORS.
- Added the required NOTICE file.
- Changed "Prometheus Team" to "The Prometheus Authors".
- Reverted the erroneous changes to the Apache License.
This tool does the simple job of checking a Prometheus rule file for validity
and printing the parsed rules if the loading succeeds. This came out of
an immediate need to quickly verify changes to existing rule files.
